Network Seven’s new studio located at Port Road, Hindmarsh was the first development to ever receive the Judge’s Commendation at the South Australian Property Council’s Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards held on Thursday 4th June 2009.
The quality of entries in the awards program this year was extremely high resulting in State Judge Damien Brown of Dequetteville, nominating a commendation as well as the State Award for best development.
Network Seven’s new premises was carefully designed by Hames Sharley to give the studio both the presence of a gateway building whilst also producing a studio with the acoustic and structural isolation needed for the highest of picture and sound quality.
Hames Sharley Director, Caillin Howard said the dynamic combination of a heavy traffic environment and high end multimedia technology was a premium case example of the “anything is possible” principal.
“The project was not only challenging in its technical complexity, but also due to the scrutiny of such a prominent site and the strong branding that Network 7 required to mark the network’s corporate identity in an increasingly competitive market,” Mr Howard said.
“With its highly unique technologies and service requirements, the Network Seven Studio is an exemplar for technological resource consolidation, breaking the old model of real time media production which required vast amounts of space for efficient operations. It is a facility that houses a set of intricate systems resulting in an elegant and positive working environment.”
Network 7’s studios was also nominated in the Office Buildings category for the National Innovation and Excellence Awards. The studio was developed by GIC Australia.
