The new premises are designed, to provide services for those with a wide range of disabilities including partial or total vision loss, mobility limitations, hearing loss and cognitive or intellectual difficulties. The primary design brief was to foster independence of clientele, be a world’s best practice access facility and to create a building that evoked a sense of permanence and enrichment for all users. Externally the building is a visual landmark, emphasised by its unique external façade and overall size. Set within a residential area, it’s designed as 3 building forms which respond in part to the nature and scale of the existing built fabric.
