The City of Melville’s 5,600sqm extension along with refurbishment of existing facilities was completed to accommodate the council’s growing workforce and the future needs of the Melville community. This dynamic building was awarded the 1998 Western Australia Civic Design Award for it’s innovation and individuality. The ground floor lobby, housing public counter facilities and refurbished courtyard form integral parts of a link between civic square/shopping centre to the east and Wireless Hill Park to the west. At the second level, a refurbished Council Chamber is complimented by a new reception and function facilities, which are surrounded by balconies commanding views of the river and city skyline to the north.
