Architecture and Feasibility Studies

Hames Sharley was commissioned to provide feasibility studies and architectural services to
deliver the state of the art car park for the City of Perth. Situated on the Western fringe of the
CBD close to the proposed new Indoor Entertainment and Sports Centre, studies were initially
conducted to identify potential opportunities for a mixed use development. Due to the locality
and positioning of the site, it was agreed that a mixed use development would not be feasible.
Focus on designing and constructing a state of the art car park that integrated seamlessly with
the busy surroundings was implemented instead.

The final design includes 5 levels of carparking with 1065 car bays and 70 bicycle bays plus
additional bays for motorcycles. An attractive facade made of perforated panels are a key
feature to assist cross ventilation and is designed to appear more like a commercial building
rather than a standard multi level car park.
