To accommodate the ageing population in Margaret River, 49 independent living units were developed within the Margaret River town site. Completed in two stages, stage one comprised of 30 units along with site infrastructure and underground services while stage two allowed the addition of another 19 units. The design objective was to create a place of comfort, independence and individuality for users. Architectural features including pitched roofs, wide porches, awnings, rendered walls of early tones and timber cladding have been made deliberately familiar for easy recognition by residents.
