Ripley Valley has been identified as a key component of the South East Queensland growth strategy. Hames Sharley is currently developing a master plan for the core area of the development, which is planned to accommodate an ultimate population of 120,000 residents. The urban core is a high density mixed use precinct featuring a town centre, commercial facilities, residential densities up to R150 and large format retail, civic and cultural facilities. There is also a future rail line planned for the area, which forms the basis of a Transport Oriented Development concept.
