SEW Eurodrive Office and Warehouse

Surrounded by faceless, static, gray developments on long narrow plots, this industrial corner block provided an opportunity to break the surrounding banality.  The client brief called for a functional yet evocative building to reflect the company's strong growth within the state.

Building upon language implemented on a previous project with the client, the final product is a visual landmark.  Complimented by its unique and ephemeral facade, the building engages the street and passing traffic through ever-changing views of the office building, obscured and revealed by the sun-shading fins.  The overlapping combinations of materials and subtle proportions of tapering concrete frame the translucent polycarbonate, allowing plentiful daylight inside the warehouse and offices.  At night, the whole building glows, announcing its presence and proudly presenting its inner workings.
