With a Commonwealth Government grant from the Department of Health and Ageing, The University of Western Australia established a new research centre for Nobel Laureate Professor Barry Marshall.

The Centre is housed in the School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences, Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology, in an existing 1960s university building on the QEII Medical Centre in Perth. The centre provides over 750 sqm of PC2 research laboratories and support areas.
