2002 - "Action on Access Award" Private Sector 2002 |
This award winning building houses the Independent Living Centre, the Cystic Fibrosis Association of WA and the 27 organisations that are members of the Neurological Council. The building develops a synergy created amongst these health services providing them the necessities to work effectivley together, A major design feature of the building is the “Wedge” which acts as a sign posting and directional device to visitors. It is a bold and prominent statement which draws the attention to the facility’s entry point. There is also a strong emphasis on the use of “universal design principles” to maximise accessibility to and within the builidng that will enhance the user’s experience to the facility.
