The development of the Victor Harbor High School’s new Senior School will provide leading-edge facilities focused on improving outcomes through a new “personalized” learning model at the fore-front of emerging world trends in education. This methodology moves away from a classical classroom based education model to a flexible, open learning philosophy where a more collaborative environment will encourage cross communication between students and teachers alike. The function of the building and the layout relationship between the spaces informed the overall design of the building. While essentially modular based, the different areas come together to form a single senior school campus encapsulating a series of internal courtyards. The school will include New General Learning Areas to accommodate the 270 students of the senior school while the Resource Centre, Arts wing and Administration facilities will cater for the school as a whole.
