Hames Sharley was commissioned to undertake the concept planning for the Claremont Showgrounds site in Claremont, Western Australia. The project involved the concept planning and design of the Showgrounds site, to assist the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) to realise the sites future potential as a premier events and industry node for Western Australia and achieve sustainability for the organisation.

Hames Sharley assisted the RAS in realising its strategic vision through involvement of the RAS in the concept development, utilising a suite of engagement techniques that have sought to explore how the RAS may strengthen connections between agriculture, entertainment and education, whilecapitalising on the natural competitive advantage that can be generated on the site through collocation of cross-sector partnerships with industry and the community.

This project forms the foundation of future master planning for the site.

The Claremont Showgrounds cncept pan was awarded a Commendation at the 2014 Planning Institute Australia Awards for Planning Excellence Western Australia.
