Hames Sharley are proud to report on our Director, Chris Maher being named on the Western Australian Planning Commission’s inaugural State Design Review Panel.

The Government selected members from a comprehensive list of highly qualified professionals and Chris, Hames Sharley’s Director and Urban Development Portfolio Leader was among the 18 architects to make up the 50 professionals chosen from the 125 built environment experts that applied to form the panel. The panel’s role will be to provide independent advice on the design quality of major development proposals in the wake of the first tranche of the State Government’s new Design WA policy.

Chris’ new position adds to an already impressive resume that includes his chairmanship of the Cockburn Central Design Review Panel, his position as Estate Architect for the LandCorp North East Precinct, Claremont and membership of the Town of Victoria Park Design Advisory Committee and the Canning Bridge Design Review Panel.

Hames Sharley as a practice shares and is encouraged by the State Government’s commitment to a design led philosophy through the introduction of this initiative to assess projects of state wide community significance.
