Hames Sharley has delivered an amenities upgrade with an important new feature for Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre in WA. The newly extended and refurbished food court amenities include a Changing Places accessible adult change facility, the first of its kind in a shopping centre in the state.

At the opening ceremony, Disability Services Minister Stephen Dawson said that without such a facility, a day out at the shops was not always feasible for people with severe disabilities.

Due to a no-lifting policy, professional carers are often unable to take their clients out at all.

Lend Lease is committed to encouraging people with disabilities to participate more actively in community life and this improvement is the first of a wave of new facilities Hames Sharley is rolling out with the shopping centre developer nationwide.
