The Regal Theatre, in the heart of Western Australia’s Subiaco, is a significant landmark, heritage listed building with a rich history. The Regal Theatre Foundation engaged Hames Sharley to conduct an extensive refurbishment of the main auditorium as well as various front and back of house facilities and external works. These included a staged roof replacement and maintenance work as well as the full integration of new mechanical and electrical works in heritage fabric. Hames Sharley worked closely with a specialist acoustic engineer to conduct an investigation which resulted in a site-specific roof composition to ensure minimal noise transfer to the space below.

Hames Sharley was responsible for the documentation of all upgrade works as well as the coordination of all consultants documentation.

Furthermore, a careful programming of works was taken into consideration to reduce the impact on operations and minimize loss of revenue for the client. This resulted in a prudently staged project that effectively contributes to the revitalisation of an iconic area.
