The Northern Territory Government were given the task of re-developing the existing ANZAC Oval facility capable of hosting major sporting events such as National Rugby League (NRL), Australian Rugby Union (ARU) and A-League Soccer (ALS) matches in addition to increasing the capacity to hold major and community based events such as the Masters Games, Henley on Todd, Carols by Candlelight and other community gatherings.

Hames Sharley was engaged to work closely with the Department of Infrastructure to deliver the required design, documentation and certification of the project. Opus was appointed as the structural, mechanical and electrical engineers and Q.S. Services as the quantity surveyors for the project.

The project included refurbishing the existing clubhouse facilities and providing additional new facilities including new change rooms, a new V.I.P. area, two new grandstands and extensive external works.
