Australian design practice Hames Sharley today announced the appointment of Khoa Do to the newly created position of Head of Design Education in Practice. An accomplished educator with over two decades of higher education experience. Do will be responsible for developing the company’s world-leading industry-based curriculum. The new role was created in line with Hames Sharley’s commitment to providing its staff with life-long learning opportunities and ongoing professional development.

With a proven career history in Design Education and syllabus design, Do brings to the role a wealth of interdisciplinary design industry expertise and knowledge of modelling Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL). He will be instrumental in establishing an internal educational process to provide staff with ongoing resources and learning opportunities. Prior to joining Hames Sharley, Do served as a full-time tenured Associate Professor of Architecture at Curtin University, and has also held leadership positions across the higher education and industry sectors.

He holds fellowships and honorary positions on academic-industry boards and committees, and is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, grants and funding.
