We are delighted to announce Andrew Mailler as the new Principal of Finance for the national practice.

Andrew comes to the team with over 30 years in commercial roles, including four years in London and Edinburgh. His experience is in a diverse range of industries, including retail (IKEA and Bridgestone), banking software development (Data Action), legal services (Minter Ellison) and financial consulting (Deloitte).

He hopes to use his broad commercial experience, particularly in growing businesses, to work with the existing team to strengthen the governance, reporting and overall commercial maturity to enable Hames Sharley to achieve its strategic growth targets.

As a board member for Adelaide Fringe, Andrew says there typically isn’t much opportunity for true creativity as a Chartered Accountant.

“I love that the creative arts gives people the platform to express themselves in any way they wish. Adelaide Fringe is not a curated festival, so if you have an idea for a show, all you have to do is register and perform.”

Describing Hames Sharley as a wonderful vehicle to practice design and creative pursuits, Andrew says, “There is more opportunity in these ideas that can be implemented rather than always conforming to a fixed set of rules. That often results in better outcomes.”

Ready to embrace the new role, Andrew says he is looking forward to joining a creative business that has a clear focus on improving communities across the country. We look forward to Andrew joining the operations team and supporting Hames Sharley’s corporate goals in 2021.
