Hames Sharley is proud to share that the Ocean Gardens development in City Beach, Perth, has received Design Approval, a wonderful outcome for our client Ocean Gardens Retirement Village, project manager Bode, and collaborators Planning Solutions and CAPA Landscape Architects.

Ten years in the making, the new development will repurpose an existing site that is no longer fit-for-purpose within the Ocean Gardens Retirement Village and transform it into 24 new high-end apartments, providing exceptional amenity for the community.

Four minutes from the beach, the new building will comprise a mix of two- and three-bedroom configurations with a design that maximises spacious living, generous proportions and a single, elegant form for retirement living.

“We are so proud to help realise the vision of this incredible project and bring it to life. The outcome will give back a high-quality product for retirees in the village, with iconic views and incredible amenity within minutes,” says Hames Sharley Associate Director, Tim Boekhoorn.

The apartments capture views and sunlight, with many positioning the living areas on corners to extend the feeling of space, light and enhance cross-ventilation. They also emphasise ocean views, the city and the golf course, all designed to Gold Level liveable standards, made for easy and comfortable living.

Integrated planters throughout and deep balconies provide a softness to the design and allow residents to connect with the landscape internally and externally.

Beyond the development, residents will enjoy access to the beautiful amenity present in City Beach, including the green spaces of the Bold Park and Wembley Golf Course, and the Empire Village Shopping Mall close by.

“As the only retirement village in City Beach, this brand-new building elevates living in this sought-after location with design to meet the needs of future residents,” says Tim.

A safe and secure development, the new apartments will be finished in complementary tones suited to their coastal surroundings, with a lobby entrance on the ground floor and basement resident parking.

With a waiting list and already in high demand, the new apartments align with City Beach’s ambitions to support its population to age in place and with comfort in their communities.
