Hames Sharley welcomes Emil Jonescu as the new Principal of Research & Development, following the announcement of Khoa Do as the Adjunct Principal of Research, Education and Practice in December 2020.

The second of several similar appointments will serve as a vital nexus between academia and the private sector through applied practice and educational research while sparking design innovation and championing advancements in the built environment.

Emil has developed an international profile associated with architecture and urban behaviour through his research and discourse, resulting in an emerging interdisciplinary research portfolio spanning construction management, urban design, planning, and the built environment generally. His prior professional, government and industry experience has significantly contributed to his research that contributes to the body of knowledge associated with densification, urban planning, and impact to social and community sustainability.

As Principal of Research & Development, Emil will be the conduit between academia and Hames Sharley, unlocking opportunities for both prospects to partner and engage in various mutually beneficial endeavours.

Emil will be based in the Perth studio and join Khoa as Hames Sharley continues to enhance its strengths in the research and development space.
