The Design Institute of Australia’s WA Chapter held its 16th annual awards on Friday, 7th December and a Hames Sharley project was among the recipients announced on the night.

The J. Robin Warren Library at the University of Western Australia was commended in Public / Institutional category for Excellence in Interior Design. Hames Sharley’s design team headed by National Tertiary, Education, Science & Research Portfolio Leader James Edwards, were in attendance to receive the accolade.

“We are delighted to be acknowledged by the DIA for this project,” said James.

“These awards are an important commentary on the recent design output within the state, and it’s particularly satisfying when considering the high standard of entries and the experience and reputation of the judging panel this year”.

“Furthermore, the J. Robin Warren Library represents a truly collaborative design process that involved a high level of engagement with students, library staff and the wider faculty, so this commendation points towards a successful partnership with the key stakeholders in the project”.

Congratulations to the project team and the University of Western Australia.
