After ranking 95th in last years Building Design’s annual survey, Hames Sharley is now the 94th leading architectural practice in the world.

The publication features two of Hames Sharley’s upcoming developments. Macquarie Shopping Centre, a retail redevelopment in Sydney, NSW and the 35 South Marina hotel in North Haven, South Australia.

Macquarie Shopping Centre: The centre’s managers, AMP Capital, selected NH Architecture and Hames Sharley, with REALMstudios Landscape Architects, to revitalise the Centre, transforming it into a contemporary landmark engaging the community and activating the neighbourhoods around it.

35 South Marina hotel: The proposed 128-room waterfront South Marina hotel will serve the $90 billion naval defence industry at Techport, as well as provide a meetings and events venue for businesses and residents of the LeFevre Peninsula.⁠⁠The hotel will be the first purpose-built, international standard hotel in the area and include 103 standard and 25 premium rooms.⁠ The project is expected to generate up to 200 jobs during construction and up to 60 full-time equivalent jobs on completion.⁠⠀

WA100 is an annual survey undertaken by Building Design which showcases the world’s largest practices. The list stands as a valuable resource for the design community to recognise up and coming architectural trends and opportunities.

The recognition is welcomed by Hames Sharley and certifies the development and growth of the organisation in 2021.
