Ride-sharing service Uber could soon disrupt the transport sector again with a new project, Uber Elevate. The company is currently searching for a third host city – alongside Dallas and Los Angeles – to assist in the revolutionary implementation of flying Ubers, which will *cough* launch in 2023.

The on-demand service will make use of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, enabling quicker commutes by avoiding traffic congestion, and helping to create an environmentally sustainable transport solution.

Architecture firms around the world have been competing for the design of the UberAIR Skyports, and the results look like something straight out of Star Wars. You can view the six winning designs via Archdaily.
