A Peruvian, an Irish woman and a Mexican walk into a bar…

No, it’s not the start of a bad joke but it’s what took place in Adelaide on Friday, as several members of Hames Sharley attended the Property Council of Australia’s Annual Diversity Lunch.

The event took place at the Adelaide Convention Centre with a keynote address from Workplace Gender Equality Director, Libby Lyons, as well as speeches from representatives of the employment and public services sectors.

Events like this celebrate the progression that the property industry has made towards diversity and inclusion, and we applaud the Property Council’s efforts in promoting this.

Last month we discussed some of the major benefits of adopting a positive approach towards cultural and gender equality in Why cultural diversity is vital in design.
