Published in The Guardian Cities, on 6 January, China rising: the 10 tallest skyscrapers of 2016 lists in pictures the world’s top 10 tallest skyscrapers due for completion in 2016.

From information collated by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the article reports that two of the tallest skyscrapers this year will be going up in Dubai, with the third tallest skyscraper being constructed in Seoul and number eight going up in Moscow.

It’s no surprise that six of the 10 tallest skyscrapers going up (and up) this year will be in China, with the Ping An Finance Centre in Shenzhen, China stretching 599 metres high, taking the number one spot.
