Geon Properties engaged Hames Sharley to masterplan this neighbourhood centre in Rasmussen, Queensland and deliver the first stage. The built project consists of a Woolworths Supermarket, Reject Shop, BWS Liquor Store, Play Area, on-grade carpark, a subway and KFC pad site and supporting specialty tenancies.

Riverway Plaza provides a public building that is aspirational for the community of Rasmussen, designed to be grand and dynamic, yet familiar and welcoming. The architectural material palette of Riverway Plaza offers warm and earthy finishes that reflect the Rasmussen region - even patterns illustrated on the concrete facades reference the local context and hillscape.

Materials were selected to be suitable for the high-impact retail environment; robust and long-lasting with little maintenance, yet appropriate for the community, the environment and its people.

The development is masterplanned for a future expansion, including another full line supermarket, another mini major and supporting specialty tenancies. As the demographics of the community evolve and user demands change, so will the requirements of ‘bricks and mortar’ centres. The intent of the master plan is to allow for adaptability to change as the world changes.
