National multi-disciplinary design practice Hames Sharley is delighted to announce the promotion of Lisa Azhar and Eloise Voss to Senior Architects, as the firm continues to invest in the professional development of its internal talent and future leaders.

As a valued member of Hames Sharley’s Retail & Town Centres Thought Leadership Group, Lisa Azhar’s credits include Altone Park Shopping Centre, Woolworths Highgate, Watertown Food & Beverage Precinct, and the award-winning Karrinyup Shopping Centre.

With much of the portfolio’s work involving the refurbishment of existing spaces, Lisa says she enjoys seeing how each transformation brings renewed delight to its community.

“We’ve worked on several neighbourhood shopping centres that were built in the 70’s and 80’s, refurbishing and expanding the centres to respond to growing community needs and incorporate contemporary design aesthetics. We get the opportunity to chat with the locals on our site visits and often the feedback relates to how happy they are to see their local shops being upgraded, as it’s a clear sign that the community is being taken care of and has not been forgotten.”

Regarding her promotion, Lisa said she is looking forward to the further progression of her career. “I’m glad that my efforts have been recognised, and I’m excited to see where this role takes me. I still have room to grow (I don’t think we ever stop growing) but I’m eager to keep pushing my boundaries and see what happens next.”

Eloise Voss approaches design by developing a clear line of communication between the client and project team to deliver a practical, considered design outcome that meets the client’s expectations. She is primarily involved in Hames Sharley’s Residential and Office & Industrial portfolios, having recently worked on One Subiaco, Iconic Scarborough, and NextDC MCX.

As a member of the Residential portfolio’s Thought Leadership Group, she offers insight into the One Subiaco mixed-use project. “It’s a fantastic example of how a development can breath new life into an area and create reimagined opportunities for existing communities.”

Not one to be complacent, Eloise is already looking forward to how she can continue to grow in the Senior Architect position. “I am delighted to be recognised as a future leader and I look forward to the career development opportunities this senior role will offer.”

Hames Sharley’s Western Australian Studio Leader Brook McGowan was proud to acknowledge the exceptional quality of the promotees. “Lisa and Eloise are exemplary of Hames Sharley’s organisational values, they bring a tactful and creative flair that clients resonate with.”
